The Story of Israeli Agriculture and the Current Reality: A Time for Optimism with Tali Almoz
October 16, 2025 at 12:30 PM EDT/ 9:30 AM PDT
Tali Almoz is a tour guide, educator, and businesswoman, whose family owns and operates the Almoz’s Son farm in the Galilee. Tali is also active with Hashomer Hachadash, an organization that provides security and other services for farmers throughout Israel, and in Hashomer’s network of agricultural high schools, Adam v’Adama.
Tali writes:
Since October 7, we in Israel have experienced a time of sadness, sorrow and worry. But we have also felt our optimism grow stronger for the people in Israel who live on and work the land. My husband, Moti Almoz, and I manage the Almoz family farm in the Galilee, growing olives for olive oil, mangoes, and other fruit. Moti recently retired as a major general, serving as the spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces. Since that time, Moti and I have invested our time and heart in Israeli agriculture.
For us and our family, agriculture has become not only a source of income, but also a Zionist educational goal and has given us a source of optimism, hope and a true Israeli-Jewish vision.
I would like to bring you our personal story - from us to our true friends and brothers in the United States.
